Let's face it, smoking is nasty and an addiction. Some say that cigarettes are as much or more addictive than heroin. Now that's some addictive stuff. So if you're looking to quit smoking, you have to realize that it's not going to be easy. There is no easy way to quit smoking. You just have to decide not to be a smoker and you have to deal with the withdrawal symptoms. They will come and they are going to be rough. In fact, quitting smoking will probably be the hardest thing you'll ever do. But you can do it and when you do you will be a much stronger and healthier person. So throw that pack away and start imagining yourself as a non smoker. There may be no easy way to quit smoking, but the best time to start is right now.

Positive Thinking

There is no easy way to quit smoking, but you can make it through. You just have to focus on positive thoughts. You have to see yourself as a non smoker. If you begin thinking of yourself as a non smoker, you will start to believe it. Repeat it over and over in your head. If you have activities that remind you of smoking, resist those activities at least until the main symptoms begin to ease up. There is no easy way to quit smoking, but it will get easier over time. You just have to ride out the hard times for the first month or so and then you will see that being a non smoker is well worth it when you realize how much better you feel and how much money you're saving.

Get A Hobby

There is no easy way to quit smoking, but you can get a hobby to occupy your time. They say that quitting smoking is just like losing a friend or loved one. There is a mourning period that you go through. You will have a sense of loss, you may have nightmares and may will go through times of depression and anger. You won't be pleasant to be around so some people who quit smoking go into isolation during withdrawal. Use this time wisely and be productive. Put together model airplanes or and other activity that you enjoy doing. Taking your mind off of the fact that you're not smoking and you will get through these rough times quickly.

Find A Support Buddy

There may be no easy way to quit smoking, but that doesn't mean you have to go it alone. Find a friend, a support buddy, who will help you through your cravings, who will keep you up when you're feeling down, and who will make you see that your anger and your depression are all symptoms and they will all end.
